Shirley BOOTH

Special Achievements:

One of the first women police in the Northern Territory.  All commenced their recruit training (with a number of men) in February 1961, and the course "passed out" on 10 April 1961.  All five worked in the Women Police Section and the Criminal Investigation Branch.  By 1964, only Johanna Wendler was still in Northern Territory police; the other four had married, and, therefore, had to resign.
