Ann LEWIS

Born: 1926

Special Achievements:

1948 - First woman commercial pilot in Western Australia.   Awarded the Coronation Medal for representing the women's flying branch of the R.A.F.
First female pilot to fly for the Australian Aerial Medical Service, now the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Additional Information:

1944 - Joined the Women’s Royal Australian Air Force and spent two years as an aircraft electrician.
Joined Goldfields Airways in Kalgoorlie (which later became Royal Flying Doctors Service).
