JT07 - Silver daffodil brooch

A finely worked sterling silver brooch shaped like a daffodil with leaves with a safety chain and pin.

While the daffodil’s primary symbolism is that of new beginnings, rebirth and the coming of spring, it has many others.

Some of the most common meanings for the daffodil flower are Creativity, Inspiration, Renewal and Vitality, Awareness and Inner Reflection, Memory and Forgiveness.

It belonged to Marie Otillie Johannsen, whose second daughter Trudy (Gertrude), sent it from Darwin as a Mother’s Day Present to Alice Springs where Marie was living.
