The covers are dark green with “TAMWORTH DISTRICT HOSPITAL – Pharmacopoeia – 1929 – “The Northern Daily Leader,” Printers” on the front and nothing on the back. Measures 10.8 cm wide by 13.5 cm length. They are made from heavier paper. Held together with two rusted staples and contains sixteen pages. Contains recipes for compound medicines. Dog-eared pages. The blank pages between pages 10-11 have hand-written notes in what appears to have been a fountain pen. The page opposite page 10 has two stamps (similar to those found in a passport).

Pages 11-12 are ripped halfway from the binding. The blank pages between pages 14-15, as well as the page after 16, have hand-written notes in what appears to have been a fountain pen.
