June Mary BRONHILL

Also known as: née Gough

Born: 26 June 1929

Died: 24 January 2005

Special Achievements:

Australian National Opera and Sadler's Wells Opera Company Singer.  Winner of Sydney Eisteddfod and Sun Aria Prize.  1949 came third in Sydney Eisteddfod behind Joan Sutherland.
April 1977 - June was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to the performing arts.

Additional Information:

She changed her name to Bronhill in honour of her home town Broken Hill residents who raised money for her to study opera in England.
