Special Achievements:

New South Wales' first woman solicitor qualified in 1924 after graduating LL.B. from the University of Sydney's law school. Established her practice in the Sydney suburb of Eastwood, she also pioneered Buddhism in Australia during 1940s, writing several books on the subject, researching and meditating in Ceylon, the Himalayas and Burma. A keen bushwalker and nature lover, she explored the mountains of New Zealand and China and instigated Boudi National Park with her friend Paddy Palin.
