First Aboriginal Registered Nurse at Aboriginal Medical Service, Redfern, New South Wales.

2005 - Awarded Royal College of Nursing (Queensland) Distinguished Nursing Award.
2002 - Doctorate of Nursing, Honorius Causa from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Commissioner of Queensland Crime and Misconduct Commission.
1986 - Awarded Order of Australia Medal for services to nursing education and aboriginal health.
2006 - Named 'Senior of the Year 'in New South Wales.

Additional Information:

1997 - Instrumental in the formation of Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses.
Co-Editor (with Kerryanne LIDDLE, Prof. Journalist) of the book In Our Own Right, Black Australian Nurses' Stories.
