Georgina SWEET
Born: 22/01/1875
Died: 1/01/1946
Special Achievements:Australia's first female Acting Professor when appointed to the University of Melbourne's Biology School in 1916-17 during Professor Spencer Baldwin's absence, she became the first woman Associate Professor in 1920 and the first woman member of the University council in 1936.
Additional Information:1896 - Graduated with Bachelor of Science.
1898 - Winner of Melbourne University's MacBain Scholarship. Graduated with Master in Science.
1904 - Graduated with Doctorate in Science (not a PhD).
3 June 1935 - She was appointed an Officer of The Order of the British Empire (Civil), for services to women's movements.
Worked to establish the University of Melbourne's Women's College.
