Signature Quilt

To celebrate the achievements of Australian women over the last 100 years, the Women's Museum of Australia created two identical Signature Quilts. One is displayed at the Museum in Alice Springs while the other was raffled.

Each quilt is made up of calico squares, all signed by Australian women who have recorded firsts or those who have made significant achievements within their field, with alternate patches of patterned fabric, appropriate to the signatory’s field.

Special Achievements:

Pamela Bone was The Melbourne Age’s first woman leader writer and first woman Associate Editor; she twice won the Melbourne Press Club's award for best newspaper columnist; and was a recipient of the United Nations Media Peace Prize.
