Maria Bordoni was the first woman governor of a maximum security men’s prison in Australia (appointed General Manager of Yatala Labour Prison, South Australia, 1996).
Additional Information
Prior to her appointment at Yatala Labour Prison, Maria held the position of General Manager at Adelaide Women's Prison. Her employment background previous to that was primarily with the Department of Family and Youth Services.
In 1998, Maria was the South Australian winner of the 1998 Telstra Business Women's awards for the Corporate and Government Sector.
