Volunteer

Vol­un­teers are the back­bone of our museum. Your support makes a difference.

We have approx­i­mate­ly 25 vol­un­teers, com­mit­ted and enthu­si­as­tic peo­ple with­out whom we could not open our doors. They make a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to the muse­um in many dif­fer­ent ways, includ­ing enhanc­ing vis­i­tor expe­ri­ences and assist­ing us with car­ing and con­duct­ing research on our collections. 

You can vol­un­teer at the muse­um to learn new skills and to share your enthu­si­asm with like-mind­ed people. We are also very keen to wel­come any­one inter­est­ed in doing work expe­ri­ence or an intern­ship with us. To get involved with the muse­um as a vol­un­teer, con­tact the Busi­ness Man­ag­er or Cura­tor to dis­cuss. 

We are cur­rent­ly look­ing for vol­un­teers to join our shop. Our Vis­i­tor Expe­ri­ence vol­un­teers greet vis­i­tors, process entry fees and shop sales, pro­vide vis­i­tors with infor­ma­tion about the muse­um, and keep the shop tidy. If you are inter­est­ed in learn­ing more about wom­en’s role in his­to­ry and today’s soci­ety, sup­port­ing a local non-prof­it, meet­ing new peo­ple or gain­ing retail skills, we would love to hear from you!
