Additional Information

After finishing school, Freda trained to become a nurse before working with Australian National Airlines.  She later married and had two children, and was sadly widowed.  She then entered radio broadcasting -- mainly children's sessions -- to support her young family.  She then joined the secretarial staff at The Swan Brewery Co. Ltd before undertaking training in New York in interior decorating. Freda came to Alice Springs in 1961-2 to supervise the decorating of the Stuart Arms Hotel.
