Special Achievements

• 1994 - Elected as the first female District Governor of Lions in Australia, serving in that capacity 1994/1995.
• First national manager in Australia for Lions Youth and Community Projects for twelve years.
• 1994 - Order of Australia.
• 2011 - Medal of the Order of Australia, for service to the community, particularly through Lions International.
• The Melvin Jones Fellowship, the highest award for the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
• The Ambassador of Goodwill, the highest award bestowed by Lions Clubs International.
• Seven International Presidential Medals for service.
• The Australia Day Citizen Award.

Additional Information

• 1987 - Joined Lions Clubs International, one of the first five women in Australia to do so.
• 1997 - Appointed to the Lions international training team, and (as of January 2018) still serve in this capacity.  This involves leadership training for Lions embarking on leadership roles within the organisation including training incoming District Governors from across the world.
• 2018 - Still a member of Lions Clubs International serving in the Lions Club of Port Pirie.
• Her professional life was in nursing, now retired, including twenty years as a Nurse Educator.
