Sister Stella Sewing Shirts for Soldiers Mrs Stella Loutitt was a fine lady and was always sewing for the troops during the war or helping in different ways. Her husband Brigadier Noel Loutitt was in charge of the Darwin Overland Maintenance Force in Alice Springs during World War II. After the war they returned to Alice Springs and opened a general store in Todd Mall, south of where the Westpac Bank later opened.
