First woman in the Commonwealth to become an Ammunition Technical/Bomb Disposal Officer. Marilynne and French Canadian female officer Lena Sirois were the first two women in the commonwealth to complete Ammunition Technical Officer Training. The training was done with the British Army in 1984 after the Australian Army was reluctant to accept female applicants.
Served in the Canadian Forces and Australian Army. Australian signal response to her application for training was… "female applicant accepted but reluctantly." She had to wait another year to get on the British course.
