  • 2006 - Presenter of the ABC's Landline.
  • 2007 - Awarded the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship, that recognises women in Journalism.
  • 2008 - ABC's South Asia Correspondent, based in New Delhi, India.
  • 2010 - Her book Gogo Mama was nominated for the best-non fiction book in the Walkley Awards.
  • 2011 - ABC's Afghanistan correspondent, based in Kabul.
  • 2011 - She was awarded the Silver Medal at the New York Festivals Television and Film Awards Gala.
  • 26 January 2011 - She was made a Member of the Order of Australia, for service to journalism and the community.
  • 2013 - A correspondent on ABC’s Foreign Correspondent.
  • 2016 - Returned to Africa as their Africa Correspondent, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • 2017 - Won a Walkley Award for her report on famine in Somaliland.
