- 2011 - ABC's Afghanistan correspondent, based in Kabul.
- 2011 - She was awarded the Silver Medal at the New York Festivals Television and Film Awards Gala.
- 26 January 2011 - She was made a Member of the Order of Australia, for service to journalism and the community.
- 2013 - A correspondent on ABC’s Foreign Correspondent.
- 2016 - Returned to Africa as their Africa Correspondent, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
- 2017 - Won a Walkley Award for her report on famine in Somaliland.
